Privacy Policy

Taio Bussan Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “the Company”) hereby sets forth this Privacy Policy (hereinafter referred to as “this Policy”) regarding the handling of users’ personal information in the services provided on this website (hereinafter referred to as “the Services”).

Article 1 (Definition of Personal Information)

“Personal Information” means “personal information” as defined in the Act on the Protection of Personal Information of Japan, and refers to information about a living individual that can identify a specific individual by name, date of birth, address, telephone number, contact information or other description contained in such information, as well as data relating to physical appearance, fingerprints, voiceprints, and insurer numbers on health insurance cards and other information that can identify a specific individual from a single piece of information (personally identifiable information).

Article 2 (Method of Collecting Personal Information)

The Company may ask users to provide personal information such as name, date of birth, address, telephone number, email address, bank account number, credit card number, and driver’s license number when they register to use the Services. The Company may also collect transaction records and payment information, including users’ personal information, between users and the Company’s partners (including information providers, advertisers, ad distribution providers, etc.; hereinafter referred to as “Partners”) from such Partners.

Article 3 (Purpose of Collecting and Using Personal Information)

The purposes for which the Company collects and uses personal information are as follows:

  1. To provide and operate the Company’s Services
  2. To respond to inquiries from users (including identity verification)
  3. To send emails regarding new features, updates, campaigns for the Services being used by users, and information about other services provided by the Company
  4. To contact users as necessary for maintenance, important notices, and other matters
  5. To identify users who violate the Terms of Use or attempt to use the Services for fraudulent or improper purposes, and to refuse their use of the Services
  6. To allow users to view, edit, delete their own registered information, and to check their usage status
  7. To bill users for usage fees in paid services
  8. For purposes incidental to the above purposes

Article 4 (Change of Purpose of Use)

  1. The Company may change the purpose of use of personal information only when it is reasonably deemed to be related to the purpose of use before the change.
  2. When the purpose of use has been changed, the Company shall notify users of the changed purpose in a manner prescribed by the Company, or publicly announce it on this website.

Article 5 (Provision of Personal Information to Third Parties)

  1. The Company will not provide personal information to third parties without obtaining the prior consent of the user, except in the following cases. However, this does not apply where such provision is permitted under the Act on the Protection of Personal Information or other laws and regulations.
    1. When it is necessary for the protection of a person’s life, body or property, and it is difficult to obtain the consent of the individual
    2. When it is particularly necessary for improving public health or promoting the sound growth of children, and it is difficult to obtain the consent of the individual
    3. When it is necessary to cooperate with a national government agency, a local government, or a person entrusted by such entities in executing affairs prescribed by laws and regulations, and obtaining the individual’s consent may impede the execution of such affairs
    4. When the following matters have been notified or announced in advance, and the Company has notified the Personal Information Protection Commission:
      1. That the purpose of use includes provision to third parties
      2. The items of data to be provided to third parties
      3. The means or method of provision to third parties
      4. That, upon the request of the individual, the Company will stop the provision of personal information to third parties
      5. The method of accepting requests from the individual
  2. Notwithstanding the provisions of the preceding paragraph, in the following cases, the information recipient shall not be considered a third party:
    1. When the Company outsources all or part of the handling of personal information to the extent necessary to achieve the purpose of use
    2. When personal information is provided as a result of business succession due to a merger or other reasons
    3. When personal information is used jointly with a specific party, and the individual has been notified in advance, or the individual can easily know, of the fact of joint use, the items of personal information jointly used, the scope of joint users, the purpose of use by such users, and the name or title of the person responsible for management of such personal information

Article 6 (Disclosure of Personal Information)

  1. When the Company is requested by the individual to disclose personal information, the Company shall promptly disclose it to the individual. However, if disclosure falls under any of the following cases, the Company may decide not to disclose all or part of the information, and in such case the Company will notify the individual without delay of its decision not to disclose:
    1. When there is a risk of harming the life, body, property, or other rights or interests of the individual or a third party
    2. When there is a risk of causing significant hindrance to the proper conduct of the Company’s business
    3. When it would result in a violation of other laws or regulations
  2. Notwithstanding the preceding paragraph, in principle the Company will not disclose information other than personal information, such as historical information and characteristic information.

Article 7 (Correction and Deletion of Personal Information)

  1. If a user finds that the personal information held by the Company about the user is incorrect, the user may request the Company to correct, add, or delete (hereinafter referred to as “Correction, etc.”) the personal information in accordance with the procedures prescribed by the Company.
  2. If the Company deems it necessary to respond to such a request from the user as described in the preceding paragraph, the Company shall promptly carry out the Correction, etc. of the relevant personal information.
  3. When the Company has made a Correction, etc. pursuant to the preceding paragraph, or when it has decided not to make such Correction, etc., the Company shall notify the user without delay.

Article 8 (Suspension of Use of Personal Information, etc.)

  1. If the Company is requested by the individual to suspend the use of or delete (hereinafter referred to as “Suspension of Use, etc.”) personal information on the grounds that such personal information is being handled beyond the scope of the purpose of use, or that it has been obtained by improper means, the Company shall promptly conduct any necessary investigation.
  2. Based on the results of the investigation in the preceding paragraph, if the Company determines that it is necessary to comply with the request, the Company shall promptly carry out the Suspension of Use, etc. of the relevant personal information.
  3. When the Company has carried out Suspension of Use, etc. pursuant to the preceding paragraph, or when it has decided not to carry out such Suspension of Use, etc., the Company shall notify the user without delay.
  4. Notwithstanding the preceding two paragraphs, if Suspension of Use, etc. would require a large amount of cost or is otherwise difficult to implement, and alternative measures necessary to protect the rights and interests of the user can be taken, the Company shall take such alternative measures.

Article 9 (Changes to the Privacy Policy)

  1. Except where otherwise provided by laws, regulations, or other provisions of this Policy, the Company may change the content of this Policy without giving prior notice to users.
  2. Unless otherwise specified by the Company, the revised Privacy Policy shall become effective when it is posted on this website.
